Typically ARC - Aids related complex is what they use to and sometimes still refer to the stage where HIV is progressing into AIDS and AIDS symptoms such as the following are starting to be seen: (Not necessarily in this order or all of them}
Blister like eruptions that can cover areas or the entire body
Thrush which is a thick white coat that covers the inside of the mouth
If you look at the list of ARC related events, it is difficult to define whether or not these symptoms are HIV fueled, or if they are simply artifacts of aging.
Are there guidelines regarding age groups where these symptoms are most likely to indicate HIV infection?
It does not have any age identifiers but with the symptoms listed above it often acts just like a flu so most people pay it no mind. The only real way without being tested to know is that sometimes these symptoms such as fever and swelling of the lymph nodes do not go away right away and can last in some cases over 1 month
This is interesting. A lot of these symptoms are hard to distinguish. Forgive my ignorance but what's Thrush?
Thrush is a yeast infection that you get in your mouth. Mainly on your tongue but it can also be down in the throat as well. It usually affects babies, but anyone can get it. Especially if you have had any kind of major infection or have any kind of low immunity.
