There's a new 'trend', I read into: bareback parties. 'Bareback' is a term emerged in the gay scene. It means sexual contact without condoms and often (!) one or more of the participants are HIV-positive! The risk of an infection is very high - especially if anal sex is practiced. This gives the participants of barebacking a special 'kick'.
Facts on barebacking:
- it's very dangerous
- usage of condoms is 'forbidden'
- even if barebacking emerged in the gay scene, nowadays there are also heterosexual barebacking parties!
- you can infect with HIV
- even if you still are HIV-positive, you can infect with another version of the HI virus!
- you can infect with any other kind of sexually transmitted diseases!
Important:
A bareback party is like 'russian roulette'. Participants risk their lifes! So please, please don't visit bareback sex parties. Just visit sex parties, that 'allow' the usage of condoms to protect against HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
It's a sad day when this is what people are doing for to get their rocks off. I bet they quit laughing when they start to feel the effects that come along with HIV turning into AIDS
Sometimes I don't understamd the thrill some people get by risking their lives. This reminds me of the young kids who are chocking themselves for a quick high. It's so absurd.
I agree completely. Life is so fragile as it is and there are so many things that are unforeseen. You would think you could find thrill enough in the fact that you made it through any given day in one piece.

I wouldn't use the term "sad" for this. If I did then I would also feel it was "sad' that people jumped out of perfectly good planes as in "sky diving is sad".
People take risks for whatever their reasons might be. All we can do is keep the information flowing and make our personal choices as we see fit.
I think "self destructive" is a better term to describe the sate of mind it must take to participate in bare backing.

Yes, self destructive is a much better term. The "sad" part is that there are a lot of these people who are in relationships outside of this type of partying who are not aware of what their partners are doing which for me takes it beyond self destructive and for me makes it "sad" in a very sick and twisted kind of way.
