I read somewher tennis player Ashe recieved AIDS because of this . He was a gentleman and an icon but because of blood transfusion from AIDS patient he recieved AIDS . In India Doctors check up a patient beflore blood donations I don't know how this situation arised in US padma

But I guess, medical institutions nowadays are very vigilant regarding blood transfusion procedures. There are lots of pre-tests done to ensure compatibility as well as if the donor is free from any infection such as AIDS.

They are the ones responsible for the tennis player having the disease and thus should be put n trial. I just hope that nothing like this ever happened to me when I will some blood transfusion.

Many times the wrong type is pumped into the patient because of a lack of attention by harried medical personnel. The best choice is bank your own or use the myriad of other choices out there instead of having a transfusion. Saline, expanders, etc. have come a long way in the past 30 years. Even though it was a long time ago and more precautions are now in place to prevent such a thing, stories still come out about similar things happening.
