CDC studies say NO. Insect bites can't be a cause for HIV infection. Insects don't inject blood but rather its saliva which does not transmit the HIV virus. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be. ~Grandma Moses
there have been no studies that suggest this is a means of transmission; on the other hand, there have been a large number of studies that say it is not possible to contract HIV from an insect bite as no bodily fluids are transmitted
I'd never even thought of that possibility. Of course, these days folks around here think more about insects transmitting the west nile virus. _________________ ==Go to your happy place!
I know that would be extremely scary for everyone if that were a possibility. Thankfully as stated above so far there is no evidence to suggest that it can be transmitted via an insect bite.
