It was the time when this HIV-AIDS was a new phenomena and no body around the world knew much about it. All the guys knew was that it is a terrible thing to come into contact with, so people practically shunned everything they conceived as remotely related to it. And as a result of it people with HIV positive results were seen as outcasts.
At that time a story came around in a local paper or a magzine that some of these frustrated guys used to carry needles infected with HIV virus. They used to stick it to innocent people travelling in local buses or trains along with a note saying "Congratulations! you are HIV positive."
Now how sick is that. But looking from their view point they were so sidelined that there was no way to vent out their frustrations.
You know I did hear this in the past. I think it has to do with their anger and like the posts title says, frustrations. I don't justify the actions but it goes back to when someone hurts you, and you just want somebody to feel the same misery you are feeling.
This is just to show the importance of protection and how you shouldn't TRUST everyone.
The version of a story I heard involved a man and a woman in a motel room.
The story goes that the man wakes up and the woman's gone, but she's written something like "Welcome to the world of AIDS" on the bathroom mirror with her lipstick.
These stories are all variations of an Urban Myth. Check http://www.snopes.com and search for "needles".
You will see stories like:
syringes in cans of Pepsi
syringe in a playground ball pit
HIV-loaded syringes affixed to gas pump handles
AIDS-infected blood being injected into unsuspecting moviegoers
needles and razor blades been found in trick-or-treaters' loot
discarded needles into pay phone coin returns
None of these stories have any merit. That fact is what we should be educating our friends about, with viral emails.
No amount of anger or fustration makes such an act of infecting an innocent person justifiable. I think that is really sick. I hope its just a myth and actually never happened
I have heard the story all about that. I think it is all a myth. Should they think of doing those things I think it is so absurd. It’s just that everybody’s scaring each other of the widespread of AIDS.
To which it makes it even more absurd and sad when a person who doesn't take much precautions in his sex life gets more scared at getting stuck with a needle in a bus or a subway train. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be. ~Grandma Moses
I've heard these stories or variations many times in my life, but I've never heard one substantiated with any truth, except for a woman that knowingly infected a couple of men with sex.
MYTH/HOAX that just recently hit the internet highway spammed to thousands of people. Just recently in Florida and a few other places needles infected with the HIV virus were being taped under gas pump handles and several innocent people have since been infected.
Years ago the fake story went: I know this lady she was having issues with her boyfriend but she thought things were getting better. Anyway she had to take a trip family/business reasons and as she was boarding the plane her boyfriend gave her a flower box and told her not to open it until she got in the air. After take off she opened it and found a black rose with a note that read: "Welcome to the wonderful world of AIDS..
These have been going on and scaring people for years it is ridiculous to say the least. People need to find something better to do with their time rather than pulling these pranks.
