I wrote this years ago (after talking with my mom) when I found out my mom was HIV positive and thought I would share it.

So many things I dreamt to be-

None of those now seem real to me.

So ashamed - and scared as hell -

If only I knew, who I could trust to tell.

So much fear and hate I see -

Directed at the one who ruined me.

I sit and try to lay the blame,

But it all comes back to me the same.

Cuz all along the choice too was mine -

But through my lust, my logic was blind.

Never did I fathom it could happen to me,

As alone I sit infected with HIV.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people that HIV can really relate to this poem. I can only imagine their apin through your words. Great poem.

No I never really share them but I do a lot of stuff much different from this and am always happy to take critiques from people whether they like it or hate it. Makes it easier for me to make it better next time.
