It boasts to be the only FDA approved HIV Test kit. I wonder if that's accurate to this date. Apparently It's not as simple as a home pregnancy test as I first thought. The kit contains items you use to extract blood, place it on a blotter and send it anonymously to an accredited laboratory. You get the results in 5 days at the latest. _________________ Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be. ~Grandma Moses
If someone uses this test, are they supposed to then take the results to their physician, or are there ways to get the proper medications through other means?
Anonymously call a toll free number the next day, (5 days outside of the continental U.S.) identify yourself only with your 11 digit code and ask for your results. If necessary, you then receive professional post-test aids counseling and medical referrals.
In case you get a positive result you're given counseling and medical referrals but it's really up to you now. It's important to know that this test is done anonymously.
I like the idea that it's anonymous -- no need to tell your job or health insurance that you're getting tested.
most areas offer anonymous testing walk-in clinics; seems to me that the only chance you'd lose your anonymity is if you were to run into someone you knew who probably also wouldn't be looking to have the whole world know...
The home testing kit will give convenience to anyone who wants to do it at home. But I was just wondering if it will be 100% sure that the tester will perform the pricking and blotting apart aseptically. Will it alter the result if not done in sterile manner?
