How long can a person live if they have full blown aids?

I know it varies, but say for example a person has not been on any aids medications at all and the disease has progressed to the point that it is now aids and they already got a cough which may or may not be pneumonia? What about if their doctor puts them on anti aids drugs right away. Can they still live or is it too late?

Two breakthrough studies executed in the African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Botswana show that daily AIDS narcotics can cut the chance of spreading HIV disease within heterosexual couples by more than half. The spread of HIV is impacted more dramatically than ever supposed when the use of AIDS narcotics is on schedule, writes the Washington Post. Here is the proof: AIDS drug study shows a 73 percent reduction in HIV transmission.
