We have WE,or Oxygen for woman,we have a slue of channels for men, there are even channels for gays and lesbians. What if they had a HIV/AIDS channel devoted to news about the virus and living with the disease, the progress science has made, the need for more funding. Not just centered on the US but all countries. Would it help?

unfortunately, i don't think people would watch it. there's still way too much "it cannot happen to me" going on

Yes I guess that is true. It is sad but I know I have heard it many times from people, not just about this issue, but many things. I just wish we could open the eyes of more people.

I think about the only way it would really have an impact is if it was a program that they showed actually in school or had a test on that required kids to watch the actual show to get the answers.

I definitely do not think it would hurt.

Who's going to pay for it? That's the real question. I do think people would watch, and it would be a great learning tool. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is going to fund it. One of the interesting things it could do, though, if companies would cooperate, is air episodes of tv shows that have focused on hiv/aids.

Good point Orrymain and also good idea. I know a lot of main steam shows that have done episodes touching on HIV/AIDS. I really think people would watch.

I think I have heard it touched on by a few other shows,I know Real World did,and I believe CSI had something about it too. There was a old show that had Chad Lowe in it and he was HIV positive, but I can't remember the name of it.
