The most riskful thing about HIV is, that many people don't develop HIV symptoms. Otherwise most infectet (but not all!) people develop the symptoms a few weeks after infection. It's possible, that HIV positive people don't develop symptoms for more than a decade. The only possibility to surely attest HIV is a antibody test. There are several kinds of tests depending on the duration of infection. Please ask your doc if there's the possibility that you are HIV positive.
